A truly "climatic island" due to its water resources and dense vegetation with mountain peaks reaching over 2¸000 m¸ which sets a contrast with the surrounding. An impressive mountain range sat upon the Granada Highlands with abundant green valleys and sheer rock faces. The park has a rich scenery with native pine forest¸ protected flora and large open mountain prairies where a great variety of fauna live. Within the park limits are several mountain villages rich in history and scenery.
